SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY NOTICE:
Lawrence County Community Unit School District #20 Board of Education
CUSD #20 is seeking candidates for a Board of Education appointment to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Dana Goodwin.
The individual selected to fill the Board vacancy will serve as a board member until the next regular school board election in April 2025.
To be eligible, the Board member must be, on the date of appointment, a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois, a registered voter and reside in Region 6 of the CUSD #20 school district.
The Board has 60 days to fill the Board vacancy. The Board’s policies regarding school board service, elections, and filling vacancies are available on the District’s board page under BOE Press Policy 2:70.
Qualified candidates may submit a letter of interest in person to the Unit Office, 1802 Cedar Street, Lawrenceville, through mail at the above mentioned address, or via email to Superintendent Doug Daugherty at ddaugherty@cusd20.net.
Applications must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024. After screening the applications, the Board may invite prospective candidates for interviews during a closed session at a special board meeting. The appointee will be seated by the board at a board meeting on or before the August regular school board meeting.
