If you love kids and you're able to keep your sense of humor while juggling numerous tasks, the job as one of the Parkview Junior High School's school secretaries might be right for you.
The school secretary serves as the face of the school, greeting students and parents and providing them with information. Secretaries schedule appointments, answer phones and give administrative support to teachers and school officials. They help maintain records on students. They are usually the first line of communication when parents call or visit a school. School secretaries order and inventory supplies, enter lunch information into the billing system and verify information in notes from doctors and parents. The secretary attends meetings, record the proceedings, and oversees activity funds.
This individual also provides secretarial support to the principal and other administrative staff. Maintains appointment calendar; schedules meetings; formats and types correspondence, tracks and files staff evaluation forms, memoranda, and reports from handwritten drafts or dictation; duplicates and distributes materials.
